A Durometer is a hardness tester used to test of material hardness. A specified force is exerted against an impressor placed against the surface of the material. The depth of indentation after a specified time determines the hardness of the material. The two commonest Durometer Scales are Shore A and Shore D, for softer and harder materials respectively.
