Welcome to Stone Tucker Instruments.
Stone Tucker Instruments Inc. was formed in September 2004 with the goal of providing the Coatings Inspection Industry in Canada with quality products at competitive prices with excellent service.
Founding partners Bob Tucker and Jim Stone have extensive experience in protective coatings.
Jim Stone began training as a coating inspector in 1979 under the direction of George Stone, founder of G. L. Stone Enterprises Ltd. and G. L. Stone Consulting Ltd. Recognition as a NACE-Certified Coatings Inspector was achieved in 1988. During his career, Jim has had experience in most coating fields including the marine industry, water and waste water facilities, bridges, chemical plants, pulp and paper mills, refineries, and offshore energy projects, railcars, and many miscellaneous industrial projects.
Jim has a Bachelor of Science degree with a major in chemistry and is an SSPC-Certified Protective Coatings Specialist. Since 1995, he has been the president of G. L. Stone Consulting Ltd. In addition he is a past chairman of the SSPC Ontario Chapter.
Bob acquired extensive experience in marine coatings during his employment with Saint John Shipbuilding and Engineering from 1984 to 1988, and his tenure with Port Weller Dry Docks in St. Catharines from 1988 to 2004. In Saint John, he was involved in supervising the new construction of three Canadian Patrol Frigates. Bob received his NACE Coating Inspector Certification, as well as training in NDE, including UT, Mag-Particle and Liquid Penetrant Inspection, during his time in at Port Weller, where he held positions of Quality Assurance Manager, and Paint Superintendent.
Bob has his diploma in Electronic Technology Engineering, and is current Chair of the Ontario Chapter of the SSPC. He is currently working as a coatings inspector.
