Stone Tucker Instruments Brand Certified Calibration Shims

Calibration Shims are precision-measured plastic films used to check the measuring accuracy of digital coating thickness gauges. Stone Tucker Instruments' Certified Calibration Films are a lower-cost alternative to Certified Coating Thickness Standards   Certified STI-brand coating thickness shims come in sets of 8 certified plastic films. Our standard sets are: 1, 2, 3, 5, 10, 20, 40, and 60 mils, but custom sets of Coating Thickness Shims can be special-ordered with various thickness from 2 microns to 12,500 microns (~.07 mils - ~ 490 mils) according to customer requirements.

We also offer sets of 5 non-calibrated working shims from DeFelsko for field-checking electronic coating thickness gauges. Thickness values of 1, 2, 5, 10, and 20 mils are supplied in a protective envelope.

Please note: Plastic calibration shims are not suitable for checking mechanical coating thickness gauges such as the PosiTest gage. To verify the accuracy of Type 2, magnetic pull-off coating thickness gauges, please see our Certified Coating Thickness Standards.
