Spectronics BIB 150 Ultra-Violet Lamp with Built-in Ballast

The BIB-150 Built-In-Ballast ultraviolet lamp is ideal for detection of organic contamination of surfaces. Oil or other organic contaminants glow when illuminated under black light irradiance. Use the BIB 150 UV Light to identify the risk for coating failure due to oil contamination on surfaces to be painted, providing the contractor with the opportunity to adequately clean the surface prior to coating.

Spectroline BIB-150 Built-in-Ballast UV Light is precision-engineered to produce super-high ultraviolet intensity and performance at an economical price. Improved, crack-resistant filter minimizes visible light (less than 2 foot-candles or 20 lux) while maximizing long-wave ultra-violet irradiance. The 150-watt blacklight bulb features Spectroline's Built-In-Ballast™, eliminating the need to carry a heavy external transformer. BIB-150's Special Bulb-Saver™ minimizes bulb movement, reducing the risk of breakage.

  • BIB 150 weighs only 3¼ pounds! The light head is 9 5/8" long including heat guard / stand.
  • Unique impact-resistant and dent-proof housing made of a space-age engineering polymer
  • Vinyl-coated, stainless-steel, wrap-around caging protects against burns and acts as lamp stand.
  • Flexible silicone-rubber filter lens holder allows quick and easy bulb replacement without tools!
  • Lightweight and ergonomically designed for easy handling
  • BIB-150 meets ASTM UV-A intensity specifications for FPI and MPI
  • Available in either concentrated spot or broad-beam versions. Concentrated spot configuration has a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of 4,500 μW/cm2 at 15 inches (38 cm). Broad-beam configuration has a nominal steady-state UV-A intensity of 3,000 μW/cm2 at 15 inches (38 cm)

The BIB 150 Ultraviolet Lamp comes standard with an 8 foot (2.4 m) power cord. BIB 150 UV Lamps are also available with extended-length power cords, or with a 35 foot (10.7 m) cord housed in a retractable “flying” reel.
